What is Import Genius importer data, and how can you use this data for your organization?
Gazelle.ai partnered with Import Genius, a global trade data provider, to provide high-quality import and export records, searchable through our import filter on the company profile. Import Genius tracks shipping activity worldwide to show you exactly what’s happening in the import-export business.
Every US international importer with a minimum of 3 annual TEUs or the twenty-foot equivalent unit (abbreviated TEU or teu) is a calculation of the various container sizes into a standard unit of containers. Containers are 20, 40 or 45 feet, so the TEU allows ports and the maritime community to measure shipment volumes accurately. For example, if a Bill of Landing says the container is a 40 footer, the TEU count is 2 TEUs.
What data will I have access to as a Gazelle.ai user?
As a Gazelle.ai licensed user, you will have access to our importer data which you can find by using the importer filter on the company profile tab.
Where can this data be found on the platform?
You can find all Import Genius importer data on the company profile and filter to 'Importers' to access this data. It will curate a list of companies with supply chain data. You can then choose a company from this list, where you can find this data block halfway down on a company's profile. It is broken down into two columns; Container Volume (TEU) and Top Suppliers. You can download the list of top suppliers in a CVS. file. For every importer, their top international suppliers (they are importing from).
Can I download this data?
Yes! You can download the list of top suppliers from a supply chain company profile into a CVS onto your laptop or desktop.
How often is this data updated?
All of our importer/exporter data will be updated annually.
How can this data be applied to Canada?
At this time, Canadian exporters and Canadian importers are only available via US seaports. The Import Genius shipment data is sourced directly from each country's customs bureau, specifically the United States seaports.
